How Would Ape Out be Categorized?

Hey guys, quick question:
Ape Out came out yesterday and I've played through it all, enjoying it immensely; however, I can't seem to figure out how to place it genre-wise.
For those of you who don't know about the game, it's a top-down gory brawling/stealth game with some procedurely generated elements such as most room and enemy layouts, yet has set spectacle moments that change very little if at all. On top of that, the game resets itself whenever you die, but doesn't send you to the beginning of the game or even that Chapter, only the beginning of the level you died on.
With the game possessing these traits, would it be a rouge like, a rouge lite, or something else entirely?
